A good friend of mine just recently moved into the thriving metropolis known as East Providence, RI. Anytime I visit a friends’ humble abode for the first time, I always look up the local breweries and taprooms in their area. Now, Providence has a nice brewery selection on it’s own with plenty of great spots to choose from. However, I was hoping to find something across the Seekonk River that would be more in that neighborhood. Was happy to find Crook Point Brewing. Even happier to discover that it had *just* opened!
The brewery itself is in a residential neighborhood. There is parking is on the street, just make sure you’re not taking any spots you’re not supposed to. You walk up on the side entrance and the first thing you notice is…THE SPACE! There is quite a lot of it!
As you enter, on your right is the taproom. A cozy area that was filled with patrons that have already dedicated Crook Point Brewing as their local spot. One can sit up to the bar or at a nearby table and take in the beautifully decorated area with a gorgeous long wood bar with brick backdrop while enjoying a beer.
If you’d rather sit in a more spacious locale, you can order your desired beverage and stroll the left of the building. This is more of what I considered a “beer garden style” seating section. Long tables and comfy furniture to relax on. All this leading all the way to the back into yet another room for seating. This too has a “new” freshly constructed feel to it.
A quick discussion with the bartender revealed that Crook Point Brewing feels that seating space is important and was a priority when building their taproom. They want their guests to be able to relax and unwind. Nothing set in stone yet but a possible future idea involves a rooftop deck that will overlook the river.
They have the usual suspects of styles on pour. American Pale, New England IPA, Amber, etc. They are also serve their own Hard Seltzer with 20 different flavoring options.
If you have some munchies, Crook Point Brewing has some in-house calzones and an option to bring bring in/have delivered your own food. I also love how they have a coffee option which I wish more breweries would do.
Overall a fun, relaxing little neighborhood spot to chill out and have a beer. Looking forward to what their future brings!
